Eye Occluder

An Eye Occluder is an instrument used to cover one eye while testing for visual acuity, and is often used alongside the Eye Chart. The purpose of an eye occluder is to help test teach eye separately, since it is very possible the student has a refractive error in one eye but not the other. While it is possible to simply use your hand as a substitute, doing so might affect the uncovered eye’s vision and introduce errors in the screening process.
